Cultural Awareness, Competency and Safety: Making Your Work, Work for Aboriginal Families & Communities

This one day workshop will increase your understanding of what it means to be culturally aware of yourself and others and your ability to work with people in culturally safe and competent ways.

It will be a great introduction or a refresher to better support Aboriginal families and communities.

This workshop also aligns with the FaCS Targetted Earlier Intervention priority of increasing and improving access to culturally safe services for ATSI families and communities.

By attending this workshop you will gain:

Increased knowledge and understanding of the concepts of cultural
awareness, competency and safety;

Increased confidence to engage with and work with people with
diverse cultural values, beliefs and aspirations and;

Increased capacity to apply the concepts of strengths based and
reflective practice to your use of culturally safe practice.
